A fellow trike builder was organizing
a float with his church, to participate in the Santa Claus parade in
Wasaga
Beach, ON in 2003. He asked (or we bugged him - don't remember
which :)) if we wanted to ride in the parade too, and a bunch of us
said yes. We dressed up both in quasi-theme, and also to
make sure we stayed relatively warm, and away we went.
| There were about a dozen trikes
and trikers that showed up, all homebuilt. We all had little
bags/buckets of candy that we gave out as we zig-zagged back and
forth along the parade route for about 6 km. The weather was
a little cool, but the light exercise from riding was more than
enough to keep us comfortable and warm. |

| Me on my Mk 3 trike pulling our
6 year old daughter in our Little Tykes trailer. She was dressed
up as Mary, and I gave her a big bucket of candy to distribute to
the kids in the crowd. It allowed me to concentrate on driving,
and it gave her something to do. She had a great time. |

| We had a lot of positive comments,
and lots of smiles. It was a good time. The plan was
to do it again the next year, but everyone was too busy on the day
of the parade, unfortunately. Always more parades and next
year :) |
